Gratitude comes in amazing and surprising ways! I would like to share with you an experience a friend of mine had the other day.

Jane has been helping Sharon, a contact she made through networking start up a graphic arts business. Periodically Jane provided Sharon with contacts and referrals; she also shared some of Sharon’s products to those she met in her life. Why? "Just because." In addition as the business grew over the next several years Jane stayed connected with Sharon to learn how things were moving forward. Sharon's business has thrived!

As they periodically do, they met for lunch the other day. At lunch Jane’s friend handed her a check – a large check. Jane was quite taken aback and could hardly find her voice to ask what it was for … Sharon gave this unsolicited check to Jane to thank her for the referrals and support Jane has given Sharon through the years. Being grateful is a secret to success.

In addition to the illustrating the power of the Law of Attraction, this story also demonstrates clout the Law of Cause and Effect has. The Law of Cause and Effect states whatever you send into the Universe comes back to you. Action and re-action are equal and opposite. In other words, you will (by law) get back what you put out – many times in much greater amounts than you gave. I have noticed that many times I will get back the bad as soon as I put it out, but I do not get paid back for the good I put out until later and in ways I do not expect.

I have also learned that the Universe has a perfect accounting system. Because of the Law of Gender, the timing is the timing of the universe, not the timing I want. Our thoughts are seeds in our mind, like we have seeds planted in our gardens. Some seeds germinate quickly whereas others take much longer – sometimes years! It is more important to know that the seeds will germinate than to focus on when they will germinate. So often we do not embrace that belief. We get so impatient that we become more focused on the timing than on the outcome.

So do good, say good things, think positive advancing type of thoughts, treat everyone with total respect and it will all come back. Never worry about what you are going to get, just focus on what you can give! How have you been “go giver” rather than “go getter” recently? Have faith, your check will arrive too!
